Our $60,000+ Sunternal and Nexus Solar Nightmare.

Photos of $60,000+ in roof damage caused by Sunternal Solar and Nexus Energy Systems

This independent site documents our experience and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sunternal Solar or Nexus Energy Systems.

While Sunternal was our point of first contact and sold us the solar installation the work was done by Nexus Energy Systems. Both companies go hand-in-hand. Their corporate structure has been confusing to us, too, and we never really understood whom to approach and were forwarded between both companies on our emails by recipients of either email tld. This is our story, though we choose not to disclose our identities publicly. The DNS record is anonymized, and the site is managed by a non-U.S. entity to protect our privacy. Sunternal Solar and Nexus Energy Systems know the details of our case.

The entity entrusted with telling our story is not in the US. The total in repairs amounts to $60,990.16 in invoiced damages. This site has no comment function nor aims to streamline potential reviews of other customers on misconduct nor are we interested in such other past customers.

An itemized list of repairs and invoice details are available to relevant parties upon request. A preliminary list of costs can be found in section “Summary and damages”.

To avoid that said companies are mistaken for other entities here are their addresses:

Nexus Energy Systems Inc., 2530 E Cerritos Ave. Anaheim CA92806

Sunternalsolar, 5671 Santa Teresa Blvd #105, San Jose, CA 95123

It is our understanding that Sunternal is the salesforce whereas Nexus executes the installation, both companies are intertwined and directly connected to each other. While sunternalsolar.com went offline shortly after this page here went online, nexussolar.net is still online.

We had moved into our first own home in 2019. We always wanted to have solar. When Sunternal approached us we took advantage of their offer:

  • 12 kW solar
  • upgrade of our main panel to 200 AMP
  • 2 powerwalls
  • Construction to start in November 2020

Of all the things we share here, the roof was probably the biggest problem we would have to deal with later on.

Our roof as per inspection report looked correct and wasn’t leaking in 2019…

…we liked it for doing what it should, cover the heads of our four children and ourselves

…until Sunternal was done in 2022
